The gateway to France in Alsace is called Wissembourg, or Wissenbourg in French. There, we enjoyed a beautiful, contrasting hike in and around Wissembourg. Whether along the Lauter River through the forest and through hamlets in the beautiful Lauter Valley, or a magnificent climb up to the Langenberg Ecolieu. And through the beautiful old town of Wissembourg with its historic fortress wall and the Lauter canal that runs through the town. Wissembourg is definitely worth a visit.
