Early Analysis: Baron B55 Crash in Monterey, CA

On July 26, 2025, at 10:36pm local time, a Baron B55 with the registration number N8796R crashed into the ocean just offshore near Pacific Grove on its way to Monterey Regional Airport (KMRY). The flight had originated at San Carlos (KSQL), south of San Francisco, and appeared to be aiming to land on Runway 10R at Monterey. An instrument-rated private pilot was at the controls.
