The osprey chicks have left the nest. We confirmed hatching on April 22nd, and both chicks have left the nest exactly two months later. The next chick left the nest today, and it was a windy day, so it flew well. Even after leaving the nest, the mother osprey continues to protect her offspring. The father osprey continues to bring in fish until the chicks are able to hunt on their own. For a while, the chicks will live around the nest, receiving food and learning to hunt.
