HUGE Webster and Bennett LATHE!! How we made our engine GEAR BLANKS!!

In this video, we put the big Webster & Bennett vertical lathe to work, machining a set of steel blanks that will become new change gears for a steam traction engine restoration project. These blanks will eventually replace worn-out gears that have seen over a century of use. Follow along as we: 🔹 Set up the heavy steel billets on the chuck 🔹 Dial in and true up the workpiece for precision machining 🔹 Rough and finish turn the blanks to size 🔹 Prepare them for the next stages of gear cutting and finishing This job shows just how capable these classic Webster & Bennett lathes are when it comes to handling large, heavy work with accuracy.
