New, Improved and Upgraded Tailstock! How to manufacture a brand new quill for the lathe!
In the latest instalment from The Yorkshire Fab Shop, we look to do yet more improvements to the lathe. We have already done some remedial work to the quill once before, but here we are doing what we should have done in the first place. The focus of this video is manufacturing a new quill, whilst also upgrading it so we can increase the functionality of the machine. We take the original from a MT3 and machine an MT4 taper into the new quill which gives up a greater choice of larger drills and supporting options. If you fancied doing this to your own lathe, grab a cuppa, get comfy and enjoy!
