The opening of Alfreton Lido with HRH Prince Philip in 1964.

The film begins with shots outside Alfreton Lido in Alfreton Park. We see shots in the centre of Alfreton of streets, decorations, union jack flags and a sign welcoming HRH Prince Philip. Next there are more shots outside the lido and then people arriving inside the lido. The film continues with shots of the opening ceremony. We see people making speeches, swimming races, diving displays and a fashion show. We also see shots of Prince Philip arriving at the pool, watching a display and starting a swimming race.
