Despite this, prevention and care activities tailored to MSM are limited in Africa, largely due to a particularly unfavorable social context (homophobia, stigmatization, discrimination, violence, and repression). Operational research is essential to guide the implementation of appropriate, effective, and acceptable public health programs. However, this research faces numerous operational and methodological challenges. This presentation will illustrate some of these challenges using data from a research program conducted since 2013.
