Does God PREDESTINE some people to HELL? | Ask Me (Almost) Anything with David Eiffert

Does God predestine some people to hell and others to heaven? A lot of Christians believe something close to yes. I want to take that view seriously -- and then show you why I think the Bible actually says something very different. The Calvinist picture of God sitting outside of time, sorting people into saved and damned before they're even born -- I think it makes God less loving than we are. And when you read the passages about election and predestination the way they were actually written, in their original tribal and communal context, a completely different picture shows up. In this video I walk through three thoughts: why the Calvinist view creates real problems, what "chosen" and "predestined" actually meant to a first-century Jewish writer like Paul, and the train analogy that I think finally makes sense of how predestination works in Scripture. The door is wide open. God is not keeping anyone out. He's the one who's been pursuing us all along.
