TALLER THAN THE BUILDINGS

A little late for Mother’s Day, but some things take time to get the feeling just right. Like 6 months worth lol I already focused on my Dad in my song Outlier, so I thought it was only right to tell this side of the story, too. This one is for the women who raised me. Jodi, who gave me the first spark of belief when I was just a kid, pointing at skylines and making impossible promises. Carol, who sat me down at kitchen tables and taught me math, English, discipline, and the quiet refusal to quit. Karen, who never had to explain how to love a woman because she lived it every day and showed me what respect actually looks like. Between them, they built something I’m still trying to live up to. And if you ever wanted to say thank you to your own mother, grandmother, or the woman who helped shape you, feel free to use my words. That’s what they’re for. I write to change things and to help people create and lead by example.
