INGREDIENTS: For the Bread: · 3 ½ - 4 cups flour · 1 cup whole milk, warmed · ½ cup warm water · 2 tbsp honey · 2 tbsp butter · 2 ¼ tsp yeast · 2 tsp salt For the Cinnamon Swirl: · 1/2 cup brown sugar · 1- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon · 2 tbsp melted butter For the Glaze: · ½ cup cream cheese · ½ cup butter · 2 cups powdered sugar · 2-3 tbsp cream or milk METHOD Activate the Yeast: Warm the milk and melt the butter and add to a bowl. Add the water, honey and yeast. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes so the yeast gets foamy Make the Dough: Add the flour and salt and mix. Slowly add the last half cup of flour as needed. Knead the dough for 3 minutes until soft. Make a ball and place it back in the bowl. Cover and let rest for 15-20 minutes or until 1.5x in size. Shape the Loaf/ Sugar: Cut into 3 pieces and roll into 12 inch cylinders. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Melt 2 tbsp of butter in another bowl. Dip each dough piece in the butter then cinnamon sugar. Braid the 3 pieces and tuck the ends under. Butter the bread pan. Place the dough in the pan and cover with a tea towel. Let rise for 15 minutes Bake It: 375 degrees for 35 minutes or until the internal temperature is between 200 and 205 degrees Icing Time: mix cream cheese and butter. Add powdered sugar and cream.
