How Smart Technology is Transforming Life for Adults with Neurodiversities

Located in Conroe, Texas, Project Beacon is a facility designed specifically for adults with autism and other neurodiversities, built around one core belief: that every individual deserves an environment that understands them. For adults with neurodiversities, sensory overload is one of the biggest daily challenges. Project Beacon was designed to meet that challenge head on. Blackout shades, dedicated sensory rooms with calming lighting scenes, and intentional technology work together to help regulate moods and create moments of calm when they're needed most. But the technology goes beyond comfort. Overhead speaker notifications remind individuals and staff of hydration breaks throughout the day, while door announcements in staff areas provide an added layer of security, ensuring the right people are always in the right place, and that every individual is safe. At the center of this project is Grizzly Tec, a LOXONE Platinum Partner based in Texas. For Daniel Lopez of Grizzly Tec, this work is deeply personal. As the father of a neurodivergent son, Daniel first installed LOXONE in his own home, creating an adaptive environment that gave his son a voice, comfort, and a sense of being truly understood. That same philosophy, that same care, is what he brought to Project Beacon. For the families and parents choosing a facility for their loved ones, Project Beacon signals something different. This isn't just a place to live, it's a place built around who they are. Project Beacon. Built for independence. Designed with care.
