BMW 535 F10 - É uma boa opção? (opinião do Mecânico)
The BMW 535i of the F10 generation (2010–2016) is celebrated for combining luxury, comfort, and remarkable performance. Its heart is the N55 engine, a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with TwinPower Turbo technology (twin-scroll turbo, not biturbo) and direct fuel injection. This unit is known for being more robust and reliable compared to its predecessor (the N54), especially regarding initial injector and high-pressure pump problems. ⚙️ Featured Mechanics N55 Engine: Produces 306 hp and offers substantial torque. It uses direct injection (High Precision Injection) and the Valvetronic valve timing system, which eliminates the throttle valve in most situations, improving efficiency and responsiveness. Transmission: The F10 535i generally comes equipped with the acclaimed ZF 8HP 8-speed automatic transmission, known for its speed, smoothness, and reliability, often considered "unbreakable" under normal conditions. Suspension: It features a well-tuned system that prioritizes comfort without compromising driving dynamics, although some owners notice a perceptible stiffness (or "hardness") depending on the wheels and tires. 🩺 Crucial Maintenance Points Preventive maintenance is key to the longevity of the F10 535i. Due to its complexity and premium components, maintenance costs are high. Oil Leaks: One of the most common problems with the N55 is leaks at the gaskets, especially the valve cover gasket (VCG) and the oil filter housing gasket (OFHG). Leaks in the OFHG (Official Hydrostatic Gear) are particularly critical, as they can drip oil onto the accessory belt, causing it to break and, in severe cases, internal engine damage. Cooling System: The water pump (often electric) and thermostat are wear items that can fail, requiring attention and preventative replacement. Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs: BMW recommends periodic spark plug replacements, and ignition coils (Bosch or Delphi) are also parts that may require replacement to maintain optimal performance, especially in modified cars. Oil changes are recommended every 5,000 to 7,000 km and spark plugs every 30,000 km (or less if there are modifications – "stages"). Transmission Fluid: Although some manuals indicate that ZF transmission fluid is "lifetime," experts and ZF itself recommend periodic changes (generally every 80,000 to 100,000 km) to ensure the durability of the 8HP gearbox.
