O Serial Killer do Aqueduto, Diogo Alves / Veja sua cabeça conservada em formol

The Águas Livres Aqueduct was built between 1731 and 1799 and was part of a large system for capturing and transporting water, since 1910 it has been classified as a National Monument. The highest part of the aqueduct is just over 65 meters, this is the tallest stone arch in the world. In addition to a magnificent construction, the free water aqueduct was the scene of a horror story, when Diego Alves, a Spaniard who lived in Lisbon, started to commit murders and used the Aqueduct as his place of action where he robbed the peasants and merchants who passed by and threw them down. The most macabre part of this story is that until today Diogo Alves' head is preserved in formaldehyde in the Museum of the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon.
