I think chief among it's issues is its tendency to fall into tired married couple tropes with Plankton and Karen who usually work pretty well as a couple even in the modern era. But beyond even that, the episode has even more issues like an over-reliance on referencing that Karen "is a computer," random gags that seem pretty meaningless and an overall feeling of the episode just "going through the motions."
