Pella – A Spectacular Cathedral in this Namaqualand Town! Ep 238

I have said this so many times about so many of the towns we have visited but Pella touched me very deeply. The way the town was started and how two brave and dedicated priests stuck it out in this harsh Namaqualand area really struck a chord with me. The fact that they persisted and built a spectacular Cathedral with their own two hands with no building knowledge is truly impressive and shows their dedication. The amazing plantations with thousands of date palms all around is testament to their work. The church still benefits from the sale of the dates. I think this area is absolutely beautiful with its rugged mountains, the abundance of underground water and of course the friendly people who live there.
