Khai Ma Nama Cultural Festival 2022 - Pella, Northern Cape, SA

Scenes from the 6th edition of the Annual Nama Cultural Festival in Pella, Northern Cape. This event is one of the cultural festivals of Nama People within Southern Africa. Pella has rich historical roots for the Nama People with special mentions of Gaob Hendrick Witbooi & Gaob Simon Kooper having been born there, before crossing the Orange River to Namibia, and later some followed Gaob Kooper to Botswana. These occasions do not only celebrate festivals but have connected Nations across borders that have lost so much and are making efforts towards reviving and restoring their cultural roots, traditions, and native language, (Namagowab / Khoekhoegowab).
