Improvised Planh [lament]

Planh..... I spent quite time yesterday with a gifted young musician who has an interest in medieval trobador music and the culture the trobadors came out of [Medieval South of France, Catalonia and Northern Italy - an area called Occitania], and we talked instruments of course and got various ones out to look at and play around with.. So, as I was tidying up this morning, I found my self playing this citole, an instrument based from around 1200 - the time of the trobadors - and I found myself playing a minor modal improvisation, which reminded me of a Planh and decided to film it. A Planh is a lament.. there are many forms of trobador song types and a Planh is one of them. This gut-wrenching style of playing is very Planh like. So, an improvised Planh for these dark times
