70000 Britannia visits the Nene Valley Railway - 15.03.25
Following on from the visit of 60103 Flying Scotsman, the Nene Valley Railway would play host to another mainline guest locomotive, in the form of BR Standard 7MT No. 70000 Britannia, visiting from its base at Crewe courtesy of Locomotive Services Limited. Britannia would run along the full length of the line from Wansford to Yarwell, then to Peterborough Nene Valley, before returning back to Wansford, on the railways green timetable consisting of four trips. This video sees the engine on its first of two days operating along the line, captured at Orton Mere, Lynch Farm Bridge, Castor Bank, Mill Ln Bridge, Longueville Crossing and Peterborough, with the Brit’s usual loud bark and chime whistle proving to make an excellent soundtrack on the runs captured, in what was a very sunny day on the lineside. •Facebook: / themodsterrailwayvideos
