A beautiful gathering on 10th Muharram at Jamia Masjid Sultania, Brierfield under the supervision of Sayyid Shifa ul-Haq Sahib to remember the noble grandson of the blessed Prophet ﷺ, Imam Husayn رضى الله عنه Three main messages from the talk based on the philosophy of the martyrdom of Imam Husayn 1. Understand the greatness of the esteemed family members of the noble Prophet ﷺ. Love & honour them just as we love & the blessed companions رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين. This balance in remembrance, love & honour to both groups is the way of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l Jamā'ah. A number of prophetic narrations were shared including The noble Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever loves my companions, my pure wives, my household, does not defame any of them, leaves this world with love for them will be with me in my rank in paradise" 2. Always uphold the truth, even if you are alone 3. Just reading prayers and keeping fasts don't make you a Muslim but rather having the correct beliefs is paramount. In a day and age of increased trails with deviants ideologies and beliefs spreading like wildfire protect your iman and that of your children 4. Don't just take the name Husayn and chant the slogans but become true reflections of his character & conduct Husayniyat over Yazidiyat!
