Imam Husayn's sacrifice was entirely for preserving the pure message of Allah. The Prophet (s) described Imam Husayn (a) as the adornment of the heavens and the earth. A famous hadith describes Imam Husayn (a) as "Misbah al-Huda wa Safinat al-Najat" (The Lamp of Guidance and the Ark of Salvation). Imam Husayn (a) continues to guide believers centuries after Karbala through his timeless message. Throughout history, Shia communities around the world have united and established themselves through the remembrance ('aza) of Imam Husayn (a). The growth of Shia centres in Australia demonstrates how Muharram commemorations build and strengthen communities. Emotional attachment to Imam Husayn (a), his family, and his companions serves as the foundation for preserving Islamic identity. Organizers, speakers, and attendees have a responsibility to ensure Muharram gatherings increase faith, knowledge, and righteous conduct. Imam Husayn (a) declared that his movement was never for political power or worldly gain. The objectives of Karbala were to revive the signs of Allah's religion, establish reform, protect the oppressed, and implement divine commandments. The purpose of mourning Imam Husayn (a) should always reflect the objectives of his uprising. Muharram should inspire believers to understand the authentic sources of Islam. The legacy of Imam Husayn (a) calls Muslims to work toward justice, social reform, and peaceful communities. True devotion to Imam Husayn (a) is demonstrated by living according to Allah's commandments and making the Ahlul Bayt (a) proud through one's character.
