SSS 1985 Highlights with N&W 611, enhanced and stabilized
This video documents the November 1985 Suwanee Steam Special excursion from Jacksonville, FL to Valdosta, GA and return. Motive power was N&W J-Class #611, a 4-8-4 wheeled locomotive. A photo run-by was held in Fargo, GA. The overall trip was approximately 250 miles. Footage includes the excursion and some of the ferry trip. Although shot in 1985 with consumer analog video equipment, the footage has been stabilized and enhanced as much as possible considering the limitations of the recording equipment of the era.
