Dialogando si impara | Franco Lorenzoni | TEDxMilano

The thoughts of girls and boys are very subtle: sometimes they are bold, they reach deep, other times they transform into extraordinary intuitions. But the vast majority of these thoughts are lost. Why? Because a thought that isn't listened to or taken in by someone disappears. And since we need a great deal of intelligence and thought to save our planet, we must learn to give dignity to all the thoughts of girls and boys. Even if it's not easy. To do so, we must place dialogue at the center of the educational relationship. Franco Lorenzoni was an elementary school teacher for 40 years and founded the Cenci House-Laboratory in Amelia, Umbria, in 1980: a place of educational and artistic research that focuses on ecological, scientific, intercultural, and inclusion issues. Active in the Educational Cooperation Movement, he has published, among others, With the Sky in His Eyes (La Meridiana), The Child Guest (Era Nuova), Children Think Big (Sellerio), and Children Look at Us (Sellerio); For children, "Orpheus, the Nymph Syringe and the Crazy Percussions of the Corybantes" (Rrose Sélavy) and "When the Animals Went on Foot" (Orecchio Acerbo). For his educational work, in 2021 he received two honorary degrees from the University of Milan-Bicocca and the University of Palermo.
