【退役した飛行機の墓場へ】退役したANA・JALや他の機体を撮影 | Aircraft Spotting at San Bernardino (KSBD) & Victorville (KVCV)

On this day, I've visited San Bernardino International Airport (SBD / KSBD) and the Southern California Logistics Airport (VCV / KVCV) in the Greater Los Angeles Area. San Bernardino Int'l Airport is the main airport that serves the city of San Bernardino. The airport was originally a U.S. Air Force base before becoming a commercial airport. Currently, Breeze Airways serves SBD from San Francisco once a day, 4 times weekly. Cargo airlines such as FedEx, UPS, and Amazon Air also serves San Bernardino. This airport has a MRO facility and is where retired airplanes come here to be stored or scrapped. At the airport, several aircraft were seen. First of all, there were several Delta Airlines aircraft parked in front of the UNICAL hanger for maintenance. At the southern side, there were two South African Airways A340-600 parked and a retired China Cargo Airlines Boeing 747-400F was seen in the background. Moreover, an Airbus A330 was being repainted in front of a hanger. At the northern side, there were 3 Boeing 727s parked with one of them still in the old American Airlines livery. The Southern California Logistic Airport, also known as Victorville Airport is an airport located in the city of Victorville. The airport is widely known for being an "Aircraft Boneyard" and thousands of retired aircraft come here to be scrapped. At the main ramp, there were many undelivered Boeing 737 MAX planes parked and several retired Boeing 777s, Boeing 717s, and DC-10s were seen. Moreover, a very rare Lockheed L-1011 Tristar was seen. From the western side of the airport, most of the aircraft parked at Victorville were seen (mostly consisting of Boeing 717s, DC-10s, MD-11s, and MD-80s). Most notably, there were two partly scrapped Qantas Airbus A380s parked without its tail. A former United Airlines Boeing 747-400 was also seen. Despite trying to film as many planes as possible, I mostly focused on filming any retired Japan Airlines and ANA aircraft seen. At SBD, a front section of a Boeing 737-500 operated by ANA was seen next to the Boeing 727s. Although the exact registration of the plane is unknown. It was likely (JA8404) or (JA8419) after researching it. At VCV, there were several JAL Boeing 777-200ERs and a partly scrapped ANA Boeing 767-300 (JA8342) was spotted. JAL had retired all of their Boeing 777-200ERs last year and their stored aircraft still appear to be in good condition. As it was my first time visiting the two airports, it was very sad and gruesome to see many of these planes being slowly picked apart while they were awaiting their fate.
