Budapest is EXPENSIVE: What's Actually Worth It (Honest Review 2025)

We spent 3 days in Budapest expecting a budget-friendly European city... we were wrong. Here's what's actually worth your money, and what to skip. 💰 REAL COSTS (for 2 people): Fisherman's Bastion: FREE (main area) + optional upper terrace Hungarian Parliament: ~€20-30 per person (exterior viewing: FREE) Lukács Thermal Baths: 3,800 HUF (~$13 USD for last 2 hours) / 7,000 HUF for full day Central Market Hall: Browse free, but prices are HIGH Night Danube Cruise: $20 USD per person (NOT WORTH IT) Average meal (outside city center): €10-15 Ride-sharing (Bolt): Much cheaper than taxis 🏛️ WHAT'S WORTH IT: ✅ Fisherman's Bastion (go early!) ✅ Thermal baths (do the last 2-hour hack for budget) ✅ Hungarian Parliament (view from outside) ✅ Walking along the Danube ✅ Eating outside the city center ✅ Trying Hungarian food (goulash, lángos, paprikash) ❌ SKIP THESE: ❌ Night Danube Cruise (fogged windows, old boat, late departures) ❌ Buying at Central Market Hall (insanely overpriced) ❌ City center restaurants (50% markup) ❌ Taxis (use Bolt instead) 🇭🇺 IS BUDAPEST WORTH IT? Yes, but manage your budget expectations. It's beautiful, but NOT cheap anymore. It's more expensive than many other European cities we've visited. 💬 HAVE YOU BEEN TO BUDAPEST?
