In less than 24 hours, Budapest became one of the most surprising cities I’ve visited in Europe. Budapest completely surprised me. From eating traditional Hungarian goulash and beef stew at Menza, trying the famous rose-shaped gelato at Gelarto Rosa, and walking across the iconic Chain Bridge, to taking in breathtaking views from Fisherman's Bastion and soaking in the legendary Széchenyi Thermal Bath at night, this adventure felt like stepping into another world. I wandered through the Jewish Quarter, discovered the incredible atmosphere of Mazel Tov, explored the famous ruin pub Szimpla Kert, and finished the journey with a traditional Hungarian chimney cake before heading to my next country in this 6 continent, 1 million mile adventure.
