With the spring 2025 timetable revision, JR Shikoku's "Muroto," which only runs one round trip per day between Tokushima and Mugi, and the "Okayama Uzushio," which only runs two round trips per day between Tokushima and Okayama, will be completely discontinued. So, to see how empty these trains actually are, I took Muroto 1 and 2 on the Mugi Line, then hopped on Uzushio 6 bound for Okayama! With almost no accommodation south of Anan, it's extremely difficult to ride Muroto 1 all the way. Muroto 2 also requires early morning arrivals in Awa-Kainan or Mugi, making it difficult to board.
