It shaped the villages, nourished the land, powered the mills, animated the forges, and inspired the people. It is the soul of the valley and the true driving force behind our itinerary. 🧭 Hike stages: 1. Frévent: Immersive tour of the Wintenberger Mill-Museum: 👉 With its 24 exhibition rooms, this museum reveals: antique tools, agricultural machinery (from the trampler to the harvester), plans, photos, and models, and the fascinating history of the Wintenberger family, pioneers of the site's modernization in the 20th century. 🎙️ Guided tour with Cameron and Hélyna, passionate and engaging. 🏰 Saint-Hilaire Church of Frévent: 16th-century Gothic building, restored in the 19th century, housing several listed works (including a statue of Christ on the cross). 2. Ligny-sur-Canche A small rural village nestled in the valley. Renowned for its peaceful countryside and green landscapes typical of the Ternois region. 3. Boubers-sur-Canche Designated a Village Fleuri (Flower Village) since 1956, Boubers is a truly vibrant postcard: 🏡 hedged houses, 🌸 flower-bedecked bridges spanning the Canche, 🏰 remains of the 18th-century castle and its former 19th-century textile mill. A village steeped in history, shaped by the river. 4. Conchy-sur-Canche A strategic stopover between Frévent and Hesdin, this former fortified village is now a peaceful and flower-filled village. Awarded the "Four Flowers" label in the Cities and Villages in Bloom competition since 2012, and in 2021, it won the National Plant Diversity Award. 5.
