Cycling New Zealand 2026 - Episode 6 - The Pacific Coast South Island

Welcome to episode 6 of my cycle from Auckland to Christchurch. Finally, finally I am free of the bug. However the weather in the Molesworth is forecast to be wet / with snow. A huge disappointment as along with the Timber Trail, this was one of my 'to do' rides. As I have said before I am here for a cycling holiday - not a route march. And for sure not in the mountains with snow would be a really bad idea as my gear is for summer riding only. I am not gonna kill myself for another of life's planned destinations although the views on YouTube would be fantastic. No. New Zealand is teaching me stuff, one being that sometimes the right thing to do is to let go of a dream. For now...
