Joe McDonagh's death announced on RTÉ News (21st May 2016)
RTÉ News announces the death of Galway-born Joe McDonagh, who served as president of the GAA from 1997 until 2000. McDonagh, who was also part of Galway's victorious 1980 All Ireland winning hurling team, was just 62 years old when he passed away from cancer. McDonagh's death occurred just ten days after the death of his predecessor, Jack Boothman. R.I.P. Joe McDonagh (1953-2016)
