This discovery was made in the Simpang Hilir sub-district of North Kayong Regency, West Kalimantan. On December 2, 2020, the Kayong TV team, along with the Sultan Muhammad Jamaluddin Foundation, traveled to the Simpang Keramat wilderness to search for traces of royal relics, including pillars, tombstones, and other artifacts. After a two-hour speedboat ride, we finally arrived at the location. Based on a 1987 map and an 1823 painting from the Leiden Museum in the Netherlands, this river, especially the Simpang Keramat area, was once heavily populated. Below is the 1987 map and the 1823 painting, along with their descriptions. After arriving, we split up to search for traces of relics, and WE FOUND SOMETHING VALUABLE. Unfortunately, the Simpang Keramat area recently witnessed an irrigation canal project very close to the cultural heritage site. This is feared to damage several cultural heritage sites, such as tombs or building ruins that have not been inventoried and whose zoning has not been determined. What does it look like?
