LIVE TRAINING: Differentiating neurons
Presented At: Gibco - 24 Hours of Stem Cells Virtual Event Presented By: Jordan Dizon - Scientist II, Thermo Fisher Scientific Speaker Biography: Jordan A. Dizon did her undergraduate degree BSc (Cellular and Molecular Biology) at San Diego State University (San Diego, California). She then became a California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) Bridges Intern in the lab of Lawrence SB. Goldstein at the University of California, San Diego (San Diego, California) where she performed her research to complete her MSc (Biology). Here her research involved the use of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing in hiPSCs to model relevant neurodegenerative disease cellular phenotypes. After her degree, she came to work for Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Scientist in the Custom Driven Biology Services Team in Carlsbad, California. Jordan is involved heavily in a lot of the iPSC related projects, including genome editing ad reprogramming, as well as projects involved in the use of our neuronal product portfolio, including NSC induction, neuronal maturation and high-throughput neuronal assays. Webinar: LIVE TRAINING: Differentiating neurons Webinar Abstract: Generation of robust iPSC-derived neural stem cell cultures and neurons with shorter maturation times provide opportunities for quick and reliable generation of neuronal in vitro models. This live training will review protocols involving neural induction of hiPSCs into Neural Stem Cells (NSCs) and subsequently passaging of NSCs to plate for maturation into Neurons.
