Hostile architecture and affective cartography involve mobilizing people's experiences, memories, and affections related to places and spaces, questioning how cities create mechanisms of spatial segregation, for example, urban furniture designed as a 'solution' to prevent homeless populations from moving freely, producing a hostile architecture that pits the city against people instead of fostering a sense of welcome and creating affective territories.
