Hypothesis testing in Research, USMLE NEET PG, P-value, Level of significance, Practice Question

Welcome to the lecture on hypothesis, testing in both statistics and epidemiology. In this lecture, I will talk about the concept of null and alternative hypothesis. Then I'll go onto to explain each with examples. I go on to give examples of alternative and null hypothesis. I then explain the meaning of level of significance and its symbol of alpha. I explain how it is the threshold of deciding whether a hypothesis is significant or not. I also explain the concept of P value. I don't explain how P value needs to be very, very small for a hypothesis to be significant. I finally make this whole topic clear with a simple example. In the end, I have a practice question for the students. This video is a part of our series on bio stats and epidemiology:    • Biostats and Epidemiology Made Easy   0:00 Intro 0:12 What is a hypothesis? 2:11 Confidence interval 3:28 Level of significance 6:01 P-value 8:03 Are my results significant 9:05 Practice Question #Hypothesis #testing #alternative #null #researchdesign #biostats #biostatistics #methodology #epidemiology #usmle #neetpg #randyneil #education #pvalue #levelofsignificance #
