Indianerbanane Ernte mit Verkostung

The Prima variety was harvested on October 16, 2022. That's when the fruit fell. Last year, when it was relatively cool and rainy, the pawpaw fruit didn't ripen. We live at an altitude of 720 meters, which is already critical for pawpaws to ripen. This year it worked out, and I'm thrilled to be able to taste my first pawpaw. The tree was planted in the spring of 2018 and is in its fifth leaf stage. The taste is hard to describe. I'm also not sure if the fruit might not be perfectly ripe and the taste is slightly different. The plant itself is completely winter-hardy. Only the late ripening can cause problems in colder regions. The peel is very bitter and should be removed completely, as should the seeds. Pawpaws don't keep very long, especially the appearance suffers. The taste does improve somewhat with age.
