Why High-Impedance Sensors Need Voltage Followers – LTspice Simulation
In this video, we demonstrate why high-impedance sensors often require voltage followers (buffer amplifiers) when interfacing with measurement and processing circuits. Using LTspice, we compare a high-impedance sensor connected directly to a load resistor with the same sensor interfaced through a voltage follower. The simulation illustrates how loading effects can significantly reduce the measured sensor voltage and how a voltage follower preserves the sensor signal while supplying the required load current.
