二度のグラミー賞に輝いたプロデューサーでビートメイカーのKnxwledgeを追った短編映画《HEAR EVERYTHING》。 ロサンゼルスから東京へと渡る旅に密着し、いまや彼が「ホーム」と呼ぶ東京を舞台に、音楽と文化を深く、私的に探求していく姿を追いかけた。 教会に通っていた少年時代、彼にとって最も身近な音楽は、ゴスペルとビデオゲーム のサウンド。やがてAnderson .Paakとともにグラミー賞を手にし、ついには自らの創造性の原点となったゲームの音楽を手掛けるようになる。本編では、その歩んできた道のりについて、Knxwledge自身が初めて語っている。 これはひとつのドキュメンタリー映画であり、日本へのラブレター。新たな環境に身を置き、出会う人々から絶えず刺激を受けながら、あらゆる瞬間にビートを作り続ける。そこにあるのは、愛用する『ATH-R50x』の性能を確かめるように、いつもヘッドホンを身につける彼の日常だ。 劇中にはJ Rocc、Mndsgn、The Alchemist、Anderson .Paakに加え、日本の現代カルチャーを牽引する重要人物たちが多数登場する。 ------------------------------------------------ HEAR EVERYTHING is a short film about the 2× Grammy Award-winning producer and beatmaker, Knxwledge. The film traces his journey from Los Angeles to Tokyo, where he embarks on a deeply personal musical and cultural exploration of the city he now calls home. For the first time on film, Knxwledge opens up about his path from a church-going kid, for whom video game music was among the only sounds he could hear besides gospel. To winning Grammys and eventually creating music for the very games that first inspired him. Part documentary, part love letter to Japan, the film follows Knxwledge as he immerses himself in a new environment, drawing constant inspiration from the people he meets and making beats at every possible moment. Always in headphones as he road-tests the ATH-R50x throughout his journey.
