But the story behind its creation is almost unbelievable. Co-founders Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke created the core functions of Ableton for their own personal use. They had no intentions of creating a consumer music technology product. But once third co-founder Bernd Roggendorf saw the value in what they had made, the trio formed Ableton, and Live hit the market two years later. Of course, that was after years of the most unlikely chain of events you could possibly imagine.
