Day 1 Normandy D-Day moto camping tour 2025 - Home to Bayeux

Day 1 - Home to Bayeux. 4 bikers travel from the Midlands to Normandy for the D-Day commemorations. Tuesday 3rd June, early start up at 0200 hrs to meet at 0245 hrs. The ferry leaves Portsmouth at 0745 hrs and check in closes at 0700 hrs. Its a 6 hour crossing arriving at 1445 hrs (French time). I then planned an hours ride along the coast to Bayeux. We stayed at Camping des Bords de l'Aure, which is where we stayed in September. It cost 150 Euros for 5 days between 4 of us. They gave us 2 pitches instead of the 1 we had booked. The trip was planned at the end of last year when we returned from a similar trip in September. The plan is to catch the Portsmouth to Caen ferry and camp in Bayeux. From there we will visit the D-Day sites and on 6th June (D-Day) we will got to Gold beach - Arromanche, where the main British landings were in 1944. On Saturday 7th June we travel to Cherbourg and return to England via Poole. Filmed using Insta 360 x3, Innov K7 & Ghost Drift XL.
