Geckos are small, mostly carnivorous lizards that have a wide distribution, found on every continent except Antarctica. Belonging to the infraorder Gekkota, geckos are found in warm climates throughout the world ഗെക്കോനിഡെ കുടൂംബത്തിൽ പെട്ടതാണ് നമ്മൾക്ക് പരിചയമുള്ള പല്ലികളെല്ലാം. ഉണ്ടക്കണ്ണും ദ്വാരച്ചെവിയും ചെതുമ്പലുകളും പലതരം ഡിസൈനുകളും ആയി വീട്ടിലും പുറത്തും ആയി ലോകത്ത് ഉഷ്ണമേഖലാ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലൊക്കെ പലതരം പല്ലികളുണ്ട്. ഇവരുടെയൊക്കെ പ്രത്യേകത ചലിപ്പിക്കാനാവുന്ന കൺപോളകൾ ഇല്ല എന്നതാണ്. അതിനാൽ സധാസമയവും കണ്ണ് തുറന്ന് തന്നെ കിടക്കും. അതിനാൽ നനക്കാനും കണ്ണിലെ അഴുക്കുകൾ തുടച്ച് മാറ്റാനും പല്ലികൾ നീളൻ നാവുകൊണ്ട് നക്കി വൃത്തിയാക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുക. ഇരുണ്ട മറവുകളിൽ ഉറങ്ങുന്ന സമയം കണ്ണടച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും പ്രശ്നമൊന്നുമില്ല. കൃഷ്ണമണിയിലെ നീളൻ വിടവ് ചുരുക്കി ഉള്ളീലേക്ക് പ്രകാശം കടക്കാത്തതുപോലെ ആക്കാൻ കഴിയും .
