Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorized distributor of India’s Tata Motors in Nepal, has allegedly encroached upon nearly three ropani of public land by diverting the Balkhu River in Satungal, Kathmandu. Official maps and field books of Nepal’s Survey Department show the river once flowing directly through Sipradi’s current commercial compound. However, the river has been replaced by concrete structures, including two permanent buildings. Chandragiri Municipality has acknowledged receiving complaints regarding the encroachment and diversion of the river.
