Eltern aus der Hölle - Der Fall Anna Hummel

When a Viennese doctor was called to Paulinengasse 6 in the 18th district on March 9, 1899, he was in no hurry to conduct an autopsy. The almost 5-year-old Anna Hummel had died early that morning. But upon closer inspection of the child's body, the doctor immediately noticed that the child was extremely emaciated and almost her entire body was covered in abrasions. The doctor reported the case to the police, who immediately ordered an autopsy. The autopsy report revealed the unimaginable suffering that little Anna Hummel had to endure in her own home. Her parents were immediately arrested, and it emerged that neighbors had already made several attempts to free Anna from this hell. What followed was a sensational trial that revealed depths of human nature that were difficult to bear.
