2 Lives Lost Every Hour: Ending Ethiopia’s Hidden TB Crisis

Every single hour in Ethiopia, 21 people develop TB and every hour, two lives are lost—to a disease that is both preventable and curable In the remote, unforgiving landscapes of the Afar region, pastoralist communities move constantly in search of water and pasture—leaving them completely cut off from traditional healthcare systems. This is where TB hides. But a groundbreaking, community-centered initiative is changing everything. "Reaching the Unreachable" follows the incredible frontline battle led by REACH Ethiopia, in partnership with the Ministry of Health & Afar Regional Health Bureau, funded by the Expertise France. Witness how local community volunteers, cutting-edge mobile digital X-rays with AI interpretation, and dedicated motorbike associations are crossing deserts and dry riverbeds to bring life-saving diagnostic care and treatment directly to the people who need it most. Together, we can end TB. ✨ Watch more to see how local heroes are transforming public health, breaking down social stigma, and saving futures.
