69 - Weltrekord

In the 1930s, the diesel-powered express railcar network became established. The classic locomotive industry, on its own initiative, sought to counter this trend by developing a particularly fast steam locomotive. One of the two resulting locomotives of the new Class 05 achieved a new world speed record for steam locomotives in 1936, reaching 200.4 km/h. The third Class 05 locomotive pursued a completely different concept. For the first time, the driver's cab was no longer located at the rear in front of the tender, but at the front, to improve visibility at high speeds. Therefore, the locomotive was fired with pulverized coal, which a conveyor system had to transport from the tender to the combustion chamber. However, this did not work satisfactorily, and the locomotive was later converted to the classic layout. Electric traction was also to be further accelerated. The E19 series, derived from the E18 in 1937, was designed for a speed of 180 km/h (112 mph), but was intended to be able to exceed this. #azett #Märklin #spurz #spurzdigital #traincontroller #modelrailroadlayout #modelrailroad #modelrailroadvideo #hobbymodelrailroad #hobbymodelrailroad #echellez #skalaz #zscale #1:220 #modelrailroad #trainvideo #trainvideos #modelrailroader #modelrailroading #zscaler #modelspoor #expresstrain #berlin #friedrichstraße #anhalterbahnhof
