Lionel Loueke, Bob Mintzer & WDR BIG BAND - Molika

The WDR BIG BAND performs together with Lionel Loueke (guitar, vocals) latter's composition "Molika" in an arrangement by chief conductor Bob Mintzer. Solos are played by Bob Mintzer on tenor saxophone and Lionel Loueke on electric guitar. Produced as part of the WDR JAZZCLUB concert "African Soul" at WDR Studios Bocklemünd / Cologne (December 2022). The internationally multiple award-winning guitarist Lionel Loueke comes from Benin in West Africa. His strongly rhythmic music with its thoroughly independent sound can be heard on numerous albums, including on the renowned jazz label Blue Note. Loueke's bands regularly feature renowned soloists such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Esperanza Spalding.
