A Track You’ve Never Heard Of… Does The Woodline Still Go Through? | OFF GRID SOLO CAMPING

Episode 1 of a brand new series exploring the Woodline Track in Western Australia. After completing the Holland Track from Hyden to Coolgardie, most travellers turn west and head home on the bitumen. But hidden to the east lies another story, a network of lesser-known tracks once used to supply the goldfields with timber for mine supports. This is the Woodline Track WA. Starting at Burra Rock, I explore the pioneer history of the area, including the dam and early farming attempts before setting off along this remote and rarely travelled route. While shorter in distance, the Woodline Track is far from easy, and travelling solo means every decision counts. Along the way I share practical tips for driving tight overgrown tracks and protecting your vehicle, before coming across an unexpected fence line and relics deep in the bush, a reminder of just how much history is hidden out here.
