After riding from Bangalore to Munnar and exploring the beautiful tea gardens, this journey takes us to some of Kerala’s most iconic destinations—Varkala, Jatayu Earth’s Center, and the legendary Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. 🌊 Varkala Varkala is one of Kerala’s most unique beach destinations, famous for its dramatic cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea. Unlike most beaches in India, Varkala combines golden sand, red cliffs, stunning sunsets, and vibrant cafés, making it a favorite destination for travelers from around the world. ⸻ 🦅 Jatayu Earth’s Center – The World’s Largest Bird Sculpture Jatayu Earth’s Center is home to the world’s largest bird sculpture, measuring approximately 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, and 70 feet high. According to the Ramayana, Jatayu was the noble eagle who bravely fought Ravana while he was abducting Goddess Sita. Although Jatayu was defeated and severely injured, he informed Lord Rama about the direction in which Ravana had taken Sita before taking his last breath. The monument symbolizes courage, sacrifice, and the protection of women. Visitors can also enjoy a cable car ride, adventure activities, panoramic viewpoints, and breathtaking views from the hilltop. ⸻ 🛕 Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Located in Thiruvananthapuram, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is one of India’s oldest and most sacred Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped here in the reclining Anantha Shayana posture on the serpent Adishesha. The temple is renowned for: Its magnificent Dravidian architecture. A towering 100-foot gopuram (gateway tower). Intricate stone carvings and traditional Kerala craftsmanship. The mysterious underground vaults, some of which have revealed treasures valued at billions, making it one of the richest temples in the world.
