I went to Arunachal Pradesh to meet the tribal people. There, in a village deep inside a forest, I met the tribal community. That village had only 14 houses; it was a very small population living there. The tribal people have continued to live closely connected to their culture without change even today. They have been making bamboo rice in the forest, a dish passed down through generations. For bamboo rice, they take two bamboo tubes. In one, they add water and heat it over a fire. In the other, they place rice along with leaves, sealing it so the steam stays inside. Once the rice is cooked, the tribal people eat it.
