ALSと共に生きる:高野元さんのストーリー
Hajime Takano worked in the research and business division of a major electronics manufacturer before establishing his own business development consulting company in 2011. In 2014, at the age of 49, he was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), a disease that causes damage to the nerves that control movement and gradually causes the muscles in the body to stop moving. In Japan, it is reported that 1 to 2.5 new cases are diagnosed per 100,000 people per year, and the number of patients is approximately 9,800* Although there is still no cause for this incurable disease and no definitive cure, various research is being conducted in order to make this incurable disease curable in the near future. We invite you to learn more about Takano's story as he continues to run his company and create a system that allows patients with neurological intractable diseases to actively participate in society. Takeda is working with various partners to bring effective treatments to ALS patients as quickly as possible.
