Breastfeeding and the modern woman | Vilia Tosio | TEDxFortMcMurray

Thousands of years ago, the Cave Woman didn't have pediatric nurses and the Internet as part of the critical first years in the life of a newborn. How has society evolved since with respect to breastfeeding and nourishing our young? Vilia is a South African trained Registered Nurse, with diplomas in Psychiatric, Community & Occupational Health Nursing and a Registered Midwife and Breastfeeding Counsellor. She has worked as a prenatal and breastfeeding educator, occupational health and safety professional, nursing supervisor and midwife. Vilia has established breastfeeding support groups In Fort McMurray to empower mothers to build knowledge, trust their bodies, share their experiences and support others.
