Join Neil on a classic Lake District ridge walk in the Eastern Fells, tackling the Dodds round: Stybarrow Dodd, Watson’s Dodd, Great Dodd, and Clough Head. This 10.5-mile circular hike includes 3,135 ft of ascent and descent, starting near Thirlmere and returning via the (usually) tranquil pastures of St John’s in the Vale. On this adventure we experience everything the Lakes can throw at us – sunshine, wind, and rain – while meeting Herdwick sheep and enjoying superb views across Blencathra, Keswick, and Thirlmere reservoir. A fantastic mix of high fell walking and peaceful valley paths, this is one of the most rewarding routes in the Eastern Lake District.
